Wheel of Energy365: 365 days in motion together in the fight against cancer
(Pické 1,2) by Richard Bottram
World First at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol : athletics track in a running wheel of several metres high
On 10/10/10 at 10.10 hours the starting shot sounded at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for a world first. ‘Wheel Of Energy365’ started at the Jan Dellaert Plein, at Schiphol Plaza. ‘Wheel Of Energy365’ is a gigantic running wheel in which several people can run simultaneously. ‘Wheel Of Energy365’ will be kept in motion through a relay by runners from the Netherlands and the rest of the world for 365 days, day and night, until 9/10/11 at 12.00 hours. The initiator of ‘Wheel Of Energy365’ is Richard Bottram, who has been a champion in the international fight against the life-threatening disease cancer for many years. The aim of ‘Wheel Of Energy365’ is to combine all positive energy in the world to empower people who live with cancer. An improved cancer support will increase the quality of life.
‘Wheel Of Energy365’ is over 30 feet high and 10 feet wide. The tread consists of a genuine athletics track made by the makers of the Olympic track in Athens Beijing and London. A few years ago Bottram run the marathon distance (42.2 km) every day for 365 consecutive days throughout 14 European countries to highlight the fight against cancer.
Richard Bottram: “Through ‘Wheel Of Energy365’ we want to empower people who live with cancer. This is why we advocate an international improvement of cancer support, from follow-up care to pain control. We do this by coming into action during 365 days, 24 hours a day, by raising funds and holding a signature campaign for the World Cancer Declaration”. This is an initiative of UICC to control cancer worldwide.
Bottram: “With the initiative ‘Wheel of Energy365’ at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Netherlands is as an example for the rest of the world in the fight against cancer. It is a cooperation whereby everyone does his or her part to be active: the government, the health sector, the business sector and in particular the public as a whole. Sport breaks down all barriers and together we make the difference!”

More Prospects! More Referrals! More Gigs! How to Network and Grow Your Business
(Panorama 8) by Michael Goldberg
You would think that more professional speakers would use their most powerful asset (speaking!) to meet more people, learn more stuff, and ultimately book more paid speaking gigs. You know what? They don’t! Why? Well, many of them just don’t know how. Do you?
When it comes to meeting qualified prospects, cold calling, and direct mail are NOT the answers. Especially today! So what IS the answer? Networking! Not the LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter type. Real live networking – at real places, about real topics, with real people. Yes, time to get real!
Most people (yes, even speakers) are not born networkers; they develop the skills and confidence through education, training, practice, and having a positive attitude. Whether you’re at a cocktail party, networking event, chapter meeting, or other business function, it’s not who you know but who you want to know. Bottom line, networking is the most effective way to attract more prospects, generate more referrals, and book more gigs.
In this interactive presentation, you will learn the techniques and approaches to effectively greet people, hand out and ask for business cards, actively listen, deliver an “elevator speech”, tactfully transition and end conversations, engage in business conversations, implement a networking plan, and most importantly – create key relationships that effect your speaking calendar.

Women at the top,
The need for culture change both in the corporate world as in the political arena
(Panorama 7) by Petra van der Veen
Petra van der Veen knows first-hand, that life can seem limiting. After all, she grew up in a Dutch military family stationed in Germany. Now, Petra lives her life, knowing there are no real restrictions out there.
“No matter how you were conditioned, from the day you were born you can do everything you want,” she says.
For Petra, that means keeping a career she loves and being a loving mother. Starting out in corporate management, having two kids made Petra decide to work from home. She formed a successful direct-selling business in the cosmetic industry.
Now, after conducting intense international research and becoming a certified life coach, Petra shares her experience, strength and knowledge with men and women who are ready to be their own boss.
Her company, The WE Company, Women Empowered, reaches out to women all over the world and helps them improve attitudes within home environments and in the corporate world. Her book; Women at the top, this book will change your life (style), helps getting that message across.
Today in her speech Petra will share her passion with you. She feels strongly about the shift in thinking that needs to take place within companies and in politics. Get rid of the old boys network and have women take opportunities. No eighty hours workweek at the office but a combined job at home.
Research has shown that the world needs women in business. Female leaders and a diversity of leadership styles can give companies a real competitive edge. On the other hand, women need examples, role models. The more they hear of women being out there, doing what they love, the more women will take the opportunity given.

I bought the remains of the company from the curator 3 weeks after I've been to court. By now, my company is flourishing again thanks to the lessons I've learned and the help I've got, sometimes from very unexpected angles. Unfortunately in my home country Holland, going bust is still very much "not done", unlike in some other countries. I have decided that I want to change the image of entrepreneurs that went through the experience by speaking openly about it. Don't miss it.

WINNERS SPEAK GLOBISH: The Communication Tool for International Success
(Panorama 8) by Elizabeth Noble
Learn how to make every word count, and use English that everyone understands. Already more than 90% of the "English" spoken is between non-native speakers. The remaining 5%—native speakers—create barriers to understanding with their accents, figures of speech. and local dialects.
Speakers, especially Anglophones, must use English words that require no explanation. Immediate understanding is the key to effective communication.
Professional speakers must respect the diversity of their audiences and avoid idioms, metaphors, acronyms, abbreviations, slang, and jokes. They must display appropriate body language, explain each concept in two ways and use audiovisual aids that are rich with images.
Speaking simple, correct English requires awareness of common barbarisms, including intensifiers, redundancies, fillers and grammatical errors. Such impediments are all too common among professional
speakers!

In this session, participants will learn how to deliver virtually in an inspiring, humorous and engaging way.
We will explore how to prepare & deliver engaging Virtual Presentations. Practical lessons from TV, Radio, the Internet and Design will be revealed that will significantly enhance your virtual presentation style.
