Some of Steve's Background

Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in biology, a M.S. in insect physiology and a Ph.D. in the field of immunogenetics and transplantation biology. Following completion of a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Cancer Research in Philadelphia joined the research program of National Institutes of Health's (NIH) National Institute on Aging. After holding a series of increasingly responsible positions at the NIH became Deputy Director of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases - a position held for 17 years.
