Fellow of NZATD, member of the Australian and New Zealand Psychodrama Association and chair of its Ethics Committee; accredited speaker member of NSANZ.
John has come across angry and aggressive people throughout his working life. For 11 years as a Catholic priest, in the Race Relations Office as an educator and mediator, and at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre where he was the psychodramatist and trainer of counsellors. He developed an understanding of angry people and their processes which he incorporates into the TUF: Thriving Under Fire programme and speeches.
He has consulted and trained in a number of organisations in NZ and the Pacific and understands the cross-cultural issues involved in customer service and communication. In his speaking and training programmes he works in an active and interactive way so that participants understand themselves and one another better and generate new and creative responses to meeting angry and aggressive customers. His book is Thriving Under Fire: turn difficult customers into business success (2009)
