Global Speakers Summit 2011 - Wrap Up

The final day of the GSS - what we did, what we saw, and what we learned

The last day started with us being invited by Hans Ruinemans to gather outside the hotel and watch a procession of flower laden vehicles drive by as part of the great Annual Flower Parade, which is a feast of beautiful colors and enticing aromas. 20 enormous floats and 30 cars richly decorated with flowers drive along a 40 kilometer route from Noordwijk to Haarlem. The theme is Musical Parade, which means that as well as lovely to see and very fragrant, our ears were stimulated too. 

It was also a great opportunity for some of us to meet up with those we’d partied with the night before, and a few blurry eyed speakers were noticeably quiet.

Three diverse speakers inspired, created change, and made us laugh!

Jana Stanfield never fails to inspire and shake our emotions with great lyrics, her angelic voice, and today a video showing some of he work she and Scott Friedman has been doing lately, with Jonathon Low, President of MAPS (Malaysia).

Day 2 of the GSS

The start of the second day of GSS events

Naomi Rhode was inspirational sharing her memories of the great Robert Cavett, and her journey through NSA over the years, and then an emotional gifting of a personal keepsake by Hans Ruinemans brought us all to our feet.  It was a morning of giving thanks to those who have inspired us - and particularly learning the stories of those who set up and created, or nurtured parts of the professional speaking associations worldwide.

The day started with a busy networking breakfast overlooking the North Sea, then at 9am sharp, the lovely voice of Jana Stanfield called us to order inthe main conference room, and the flags were marched in.

An amazing insight into workplaces of the future

The day before the Global Speakers Summit officially got underway, some members of the Global Speakers Network (speakers who regularly speak outside of their own country) attended a tour of Microsoft Netherlands Head Office.
