The last day started with us being invited by Hans Ruinemans to gather outside the hotel and watch a procession of flower laden vehicles drive by as part of the great Annual Flower Parade, which is a feast of beautiful colors and enticing aromas. 20 enormous floats and 30 cars richly decorated with flowers drive along a 40 kilometer route from Noordwijk to Haarlem. The theme is Musical Parade, which means that as well as lovely to see and very fragrant, our ears were stimulated too.
It was also a great opportunity for some of us to meet up with those we’d partied with the night before, and a few blurry eyed speakers were noticeably quiet.
