Welcome to the Global Speakers Federation!
The Global Speakers Federation is an organization of national speaking associations around the world. Some of these not-for-profit associations have been serving the education and networking needs of professional speakers since the early 1970s! Our member associations are organized and managed with volunteer boards of directors and committees for the purpose of advancing the art and value of professional speakers. Isn’t it good to know you are not in this profession alone?
We may have been around awhile but we are not stuck in the past! Our membership is constantly growing with new faces and new associations from newly emerging markets. These members are new to the organization – not necessarily to the profession. Maybe that is you! You have been out there working in this business for a long time and have just now realized, there is an established network of like-minded professionals who understand what you do. Welcome to your community! Register now and begin to see the benefits of learning and sharing with your fellow professional speakers.
What do we expect of you? This organization was founded on principles of abundance. We believe that by sharing with each other and caring about the success of our fellow members, we will build a stronger profession. We expect you to share a few of your best practices and care about our shared profession. This organization has a strong foundation of professional ethics. All GSF members sign a code of professional ethics and work together to bring integrity to our profession and the work we do for those who hire us. We expect that you will abide by ethical standards and respect intellectual property rights.
GSF member events are taking place every month somewhere in the world. During these events members gather for cutting-edge information exchanges, camaraderie and networking. These face-to-face events are supplemented by various forms of virtual events and gatherings of friends around the globe. The member associations of the GSF provide conventions, workshops and chapter meetings in addition to publications, virtual events and web sites serving local markets.

The 2011-2012 year is definitely underway! German speakers (meeting as the GSA , German Speakers Association, conference in Munich, September 8 - 10) kicked the Global Speakers Federation off to a very fine start. In addition to fantastic main stage keynoters, we witnessed the longest standing ovation in the history of the world for Dr. Lothar Seiwert, who is concluding his two-year Presidency of the GSA.

During the Annual Convention held 1 – 3 October 2010 the PSA recognised many different speakers for their work in the industry. These awards were for service to the PSA, dedication to their craft and also excellence in speaking.

Paris on 14 October to 15 October saw the convention for the FPSA. Read the report from James Dillon to see how it was.
“Words into Action” was the theme and Espace Rochefoucauld in Paris was the scene of the 2nd Convention for the French Professional Speakers Association. Under the auspices of Pascale Pailhé, President of the FPSA, and Alan Stevens, President of Global Speakers Federation, the Paris convention presented a wide range of styles, messages and inspirations.

As you can see, I received the gavel from my predecessor, Lindsay Adams CSP, at the NSA Convention in Orlando, Florida in July. I am pleased to welcome you to the new Global Speakers Federation (GSF) community website! Speakers, trainers and coaches across the globe can now share their ideas, opinions and experiences in the speaking profession with ease.
GSF distinguishes itself from other (online) speaking communities by the enormous willingness of seasoned speakers to share their experiences, by common ethics and values worldwide, by having traditions reflecting our history, by having well established relations with industry bodies and, at last, by being a real network of real people. It’s our strategy to demonstrate the difference.
The making of this website was a huge project but the result is there. It’s not just a new website; it’s a new chapter in GSF history! Enjoy!

The status of the new GSF website: we’ve just implemented the graphic design for about 90%. This should provide you with a feeling of how the site wil be experienced. It’s still full of bugs, many sections are not even completed and we haven’t worked on the content at all.
Nevertheless, this version does provide a sense of how it will support associations worldwide. Please feel free to leave your feedback below!

If you look carefully, you’ll notice the similarities between this prototype and Chatbots.org. In the phase just before this, all the orange you see here, used to be green, but we forgot to make a screen dump :-(.

The GSF would like to extend an invitation to Federation Member Associations to submit a bid to host the fifth Global Speaker Summit. The document link below includes the guidelines and checklist for submitting a bid for the 2013 GSS. Deadline for submissions: 25 January 2011. The selected location will be announced during the 2011 PSA-Holland GSS.
