First global image rights protection scheme launches

Our President-Elect Lesley Everett has become the world’s first to register her personality and image with brand new Image Rights Legislation out of the States of Guernsey. The legislation went ‘live’ on 3rd December and lawyers Carey Olsen managing to ensure lesley was the first on the register.

Lesley worked on the legislation as a consultant over the past 2 years, which is designed to protect the image rights of celebrities, sports personalities and high profile figures against commercial exploitation. It is the first legislation of its kind in the world.
